People Experience is the result of all the interactions an employee has with their employer. Its closely related to employee engagement and focuses on creating a great working environment for organisations to get the most out of their people.
Research, by Gallup, shows connected employees achieve 37% higher performance at work. And 89% of executives say better employee experience leads to better customer experience.
This data is clear: Employee experience is not a nice to have, it’s a business imperative. Engaged employees means happy customers, which leads to better business outcomes. And that’s a win for everyone.

This course is for anyone who wants to improve their people experience by putting them at the heart of the design process.
You might be in a role in a people team, HR, recruitment, OD, a hiring manager; one of the many people who are part of the end-to-end employee experience.
Delivered remotely over 2 days, 10am – 4pm, these live and interactive sessions will cover:
Day 1 gives you a solid introduction to Service Design and how the approach can be used to impact people experience. We will cover methods and techniques to better understand the current experience and how to apply a holistic approach to problem solving. You will use tools throughout the course that will enable you to drive innovation within your organisation.
Day 2 gives you the opportunity to apply a variety of ideation tools to start developing ideas. Progressing into a project planning tool to map out your problems from start to finish. This enables you to turn your concepts into a reality. These ideas will be brought to life through rapid prototyping before presenting your prototypes to the wider audience.

A 45 minute Miro session is offered for anyone who needs to learn the basics
SME’s and Levy Payers in Scotland can apply for funding for Service Design training through the Flexible Workforce Development Fund at Dundee & Angus College. ITA funding is available to those who are over 16 and earn less than £22,000 per annum to allow them to access learning. If you have not already applied for ITA funding and for more information regarding ITA funding please go to MyWorldOfWork.
As a provider of education, we do not charge, and you do not pay VAT for training with the Service Design Academy.
Equipment: You need a computer with fast and reliable connection to the internet, webcam and a microphone and speakers or a headset.
Tools: access is easy and universal using industry-standard and web-based tools. We use Zoom with a secure educators account, exercises take place on Miro. Both tools are available through Chrome browser and we recommend using Chrome for the best experience.
Teaching: this is a live course, taught in real-time. It is not a self-paced, online tutorial but a highly interactive and fast paced course delivered by experts in the field of service design.
The Service Design Academy is the only organisation in the world accredited by the Service Design Network which means our courses are accredited by them and our Consultants are accredited to Master or Practitioner level. Your course certificate is accredited by SDA and the Service Design Network, a driver of global growth, development and innovation within the practice of service design.
